New school/library partnership opens October 1

At 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, the new Molly Pruitt Public Library at Roosevelt High School, 5110 Walzem Road, will open its doors for public service. The new library is a partnership between the North East Independent School District and the San Antonio Public Library, the second such collaboration. A similar facility at Reagan High School in the Stone Oak area opened in 1999.

The Library's public service hours during the school year will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday; closed on Friday; and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Customers of the Windcrest Bookmobile stop are especially invited to visit the Pruitt Public Library. Please note: now that there is a San Antonio Public Library in your neighborhood, we are taking the opportunity to extend Bookmobile service to other areas of the city, and as of September 23 service has been discontinued at the Windcrest stop. Items checked out from the Bookmobile can be returned to the new Pruitt Public Library at Roosevelt High School, or to any other location of the San Antonio Public Library. A map of Library locations and schedule of service hours can be found on the San Antonio Public Library webpage.

And watch for information about our big grand opening celebration on Saturday, October 10!
