College Applications and Financial Aid – Made Easy

College-bound students and their families who’d like assistance with applying for college and financial aid can get help at the Central Library Auditorium on Saturday, May 2 at 2:00 p.m. The library is offering a free program on College Applications and Financial Aid – Made Easy, presented by Chandra Murthy, as part of a non-profit service from the Gowri Krishna Foundation.

Preparation for college should start early in a student’s life. Parents and students will learn how to build an “education portfolio” that will make their college and scholarship applications more competitive. Information will be available in both English and Spanish.

Topics to be discussed include:
· applying for college
· financial aid and student loans sources
· preparing for standardized tests
· writing powerful essays
· the importance of extracurricular activities
· applying without a computer

Don’t’ wait! Register online at mysapl.org, or by calling 210-207-2500. Central Library is located at 600 Soledad. One hour of free parking is available in the Library Garage with a validated ticket.
