The San Antonio Public Library will offer a special presentation by Church of Lies author Flora Jessop on Tuesday, June 23, at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Library, 600 Soledad. Jessop, raised in the strict Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS), will tell the dramatic true story of how in the 1980s she escaped from the church of the FBI's most-wanted polygamist, Warren Jeffs. Since then, Jessop has faced frustrating obstacles but won some hard-fought successes in rescuing women and children from the FLDS. Her book Church of Lies describes her dark experiences growing up in the polygamist sect.
